Summer 2027 Equity Trader Internship

The Role:

As an Equity Trader Intern, you will spend the summer learning how Trillium approaches the markets while gaining hands-on exposure to our proprietary trading technology and process. Working closely with a designated trader mentor, you will research and enhance existing trading strategies, develop an understanding of the U.S., Canadian, and OTC equity markets and U.S. options, and strengthen the communication, quantitative, analytical, and decision-making skills required to succeed in a trading environment.

Throughout the program, you will practice making simulated, split-second buy and sell decisions using Trillium’s proprietary keyboard-based trading platform. You will also participate in trade review, market research, educational sessions, and direct interactions with experienced traders and trading leadership.

Our internship is designed to be a direct pipeline into Trillium’s full-time Equity Trader program. We use the six-week program to give students meaningful exposure to the work, culture, and expectations of a Trillium trader while also giving our team the opportunity to evaluate interns over an extended period. Interns who demonstrate strong judgment, curiosity, competitiveness, adaptability, and alignment with Trillium’s trading environment may receive an offer to return as a full-time Equity Trader following graduation. For students interested in building a career in trading, the internship is intended to provide both a substantive summer experience and a clear path toward a future at Trillium.

Compensation:

• This paid internship is six weeks (June-July, 2027) and pays $1,000/week (gross)

Responsibilities:

• Researching market microstructure patterns for inefficiencies
• Collaboration on daily trade review
• Following industry and overall market news
• Working closely with a dedicated mentor
• Participating in group meetings hosted by senior traders
• Educational seminars to learn proprietary trading tools

About You:

You are an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive person who is eager to learn. The ideal candidate must have/be the following:

• Resourceful thought process, team-oriented mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrated through extracurricular activities and/or group projects, and record of academic achievement
• Analytically minded, intellectually curious, and have a strong interest in financial markets
• Must be competitive, adaptable, and persevering
• Preferred major(s) in economics, mathematics, business/business administration, finance, or adjacent fields
• Please note, Trillium will not sponsor applicants for work visas

Job Requirements:

• The position is intended for rising seniors (Spring 2028 graduation) with a cumulative 3.5+ GPA.
  • Students entering their senior year of undergraduate or final year of a master's program are encouraged to apply.
