About the role:
We own the full stack that powers customer interactions: the gateways that route calls into the right programs, the services that manage contact center and agency customer data, and the workers and data pipelines that ingest call data from platforms like NICE and Strada. You'll work across backend services, event-driven workers, and scheduled data runners – designing systems that are reliable, scalable, and central to how Hippo serves its customers.
As part of the Growth & CX domain, you'll collaborate closely with Engineers, Product Managers, and operations teams, getting hands-on exposure to business-critical workflows like call routing, contact center analytics, agency prequoting automation, and large-scale customer data management.
What will you do?
- You'll deeply collaborate with Engineering teams. This includes actively participating in the development of new features and initiatives, from initial requirement analysis and test planning to execution, regression testing, and final release sign-off.
- You'll partner closely with Product Managers. This means you will be responsible for prioritizing testing efforts, clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions from a quality perspective, coordinating Business Acceptance Testing, and advocating for the needs of our customers.
- You'll collaborate with other manual QA engineers on cross-team and cross-BU projects, to expand and maintain our test coverage for new features and regression testing.
- You'll proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
We might be a match if you…
- Have 5+ years of QA experience, with a focus on manual testing (Black Box, White Box, and Grey Box).
- Have a good knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Have a good understanding of testing integration, functional, end-to-end, and API tests (Postman).
- Have experience with test case design, execution, and reporting for complex systems (front-end and back-end).
- Have an ability to create test cases and collections that exercise the requirements and business rules in colaboration with PMs.
- Worked with test case management tools (preferably XRay).
- Have good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Are an independent problem solver but also a collaborative team player.
- Have a great command of English (written & spoken) and at least basic of Polish.
- Are available in the afternoons – In this role, you’ll be working afternoons (until 8 PM) 3 times a week – we try to prioritize everyone’s personal time, but this collaboration sits close to our US team. Good news though – no meetings on Fridays :)
- Experience working in a product company, ideally a startup/scale-up.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their impact on the QA process.
- Experience with Jira and agile testing methodologies.
- Experience with Salesforce or any other CRM.
