Lead Enterprise Planning Excellence Across a Complex Supply Chain Network

Hastings Deering is looking for an experienced Head of Supply Chain Planning to lead our enterprise planning, inventory and replenishment capability.

This is a senior leadership opportunity with genuine enterprise influence. You’ll shape how we forecast demand, plan supply and invest in inventory, balancing parts availability, customer service, working capital, cost and supply risk across a large and complex distribution network.

Working across Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Commercial, Procurement and Caterpillar, you’ll lead improvements to planning capability and provide the insights and recommendations that support critical business decisions.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the planning function across supply planning, forecasting, inventory optimisation and replenishment, while developing the people, processes and systems that strengthen our overall planning capability.

Key areas of accountability include:

  • Developing and executing enterprise planning and inventory strategies.
  • Leading supply planning and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
  • Improving forecasting capability, accuracy and planning maturity.
  • Optimising inventory investment, working capital and parts availability.
  • Balancing customer service, cost, inventory and supply risk.
  • Providing executives with insights, scenario modelling and recommendations.
  • Improving planning systems, reporting, analytics and digital capability.
  • Partnering with leaders across Operations, Finance, Commercial, Procurement and Caterpillar.
  • Leading and developing high-performing planning and replenishment teams.

About you:

You’re an experienced supply chain leader who combines strong planning expertise with commercial thinking. You understand that effective inventory management is a balancing act between having the right product available for customers and managing the capital, cost and risk associated with carrying inventory.

You’re also comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level, using data to challenge assumptions, influence senior stakeholders and turn complex supply chain issues into clear decisions.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience across supply chain planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, replenishment, S&OP or IBP.
  • Experience leading planning, inventory or supply chain functions within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of working capital and inventory investment.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience translating data into business decisions.
