Ready to make an impact?

Why this role matters

As Security Manager, you will create and maintain a secure construction-site environment that protects people, materials, equipment, and property. You will lead security operations, reduce risk, and support operational continuity by implementing practical site security controls and coordinating closely with project teams, contractors, service providers, and local authorities.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific security plans in line with company policies and project requirements.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities relating to theft, vandalism, trespassing, and safety violations.
  • Lead criminal and disciplinary investigations, manage incident response, prepare clear incident reports, and liaise with emergency services where required.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with SAPS, traffic authorities, local security companies, and other relevant local authorities.
  • Supervise and coordinate security personnel, including shift planning, training, performance management, and day-to-day operational direction.
  • Manage site access controls to ensure that only authorised personnel, vehicles, and deliveries enter the construction site.
  • Oversee CCTV, alarm systems, and perimeter fencing, ensuring that security infrastructure is operational, maintained, and fit for purpose.
  • Work closely with the HSE team to support compliance with health, safety, environmental, and site-security requirements.
  • Conduct security inductions for workers, contractors, and visitors, and align security expectations with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate access records, patrol reports, incident documentation, and other security logs.
  • Plan and conduct regular security audits, inspections, and drills to strengthen site readiness and resilience.
  • Your work will help create a secure, compliant, and resilient environment for the successful delivery of renewable energy projects.

What you'll gain

  • A high-impact role with clear ownership of security operations on a live construction site.
  • The opportunity to work closely with project leadership, HSE, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Meaningful exposure to security risk management, site operations, incident response, and project delivery within the renewable energy sector.
  • The chance to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation working to build a more sustainable future.

What you'll bring

Experience and qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in security management or a related field will be advantageous.
  • PSIRA registration at Grade B as a minimum.
  • At least seven years of security operations experience, including at least four years in a construction environment.
  • A strong criminal and disciplinary investigation background.
  • A valid EB driver's licence as a minimum.
  • Valid HIRA, First Aid, Fire Fighting, and Legal Liability certificates.
  • Experience leading teams and working with security technologies such as CCTV and biometric systems.
  • A strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and site safety procedures.
  • Solar-farm experience will be advantageous.
  • Strong risk-assessment, incident-management, planning, reporting, and stakeholder-management capability.
  • A proactive, structured, and collaborative working style, with the confidence to act decisively, communicate clearly, and lead teams in a fast-moving site environment.
