Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician (RVT)
We are looking for an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our overnight and emergency patient care team.
We know experienced RVTs bring a high level of skill, judgment, and dedication to overnight emergency medicine, and we do not take that lightly. To recognize the value of that experience, this role is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000, along with a $2/hour shift differential for eligible shifts.
This role is a strong fit for a credentialed technician who enjoys emergency medicine, late-shift work, and hands-on patient care in a busy hospital environment. Our overnight technicians help keep patient care moving after hours and play an important role in supporting doctors, hospitalized patients, urgent cases, and continuity between shifts.
We offer flexible overnight scheduling. Shifts may start as early as 3:00 PM or as late as 9:00 PM, depending on hospital needs and candidate availability. We can consider 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, with a preference for 10-hour shifts when possible.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician / RVT credential
- Emergency, urgent care, or high-volume hospital experience preferred
- Comfortable working overnight or late-shift hours
- Strong technical skills and sound clinical judgment
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and focused during urgent cases
- Clear communication with doctors, technicians, assistants, and support staff
- Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-care focused
Responsibilities
- Support overnight emergency patient care
- Assist doctors with treatments, diagnostics, monitoring, and urgent cases
- Help triage and prioritize patient needs during overnight hours
- Monitor hospitalized and emergency patients
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes
- Communicate patient updates clearly between overnight and daytime teams
- Support a clean, organized, and efficient treatment environment
- Work collaboratively with doctors and support staff to provide high-quality care
Rewards
- $28–$33 per hour, based on experience
- $2/hour shift differential
