Children's Cottage of Wilmington is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teacher to support in the following age groups: Preschool and Pre-K
To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience and EDU-119!
Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
Compensation: $15-$18 hr; based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:
- Support lead teacher in lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
- Use our parent communication app efficiently.
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
- Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
- Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
- Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
