About the job

Join Opella’s Integration Platform team as Release Manager and take full accountability for release management across the global integration landscape. The role owns the end-to-end release lifecycle for integration changes, from planning and readiness through CAB decision-making, deployment coordination, post-release validation, reporting, and continuous improvement.

This is a dedicated operational leadership role designed to provide focus, consistency, and accountability. The Release Manager acts as the central point of coordination across Integration, application teams, Quality, Security, Operations, projects, and external partners to ensure releases are safe, predictable, compliant, and business-aligned.

Main responsibilities

•        Own, define, and continuously improve the end-to-end release management process for all Integration Platform changes and deployments.

•        Prepare, maintain, and communicate the integrated release calendar, aligning deployment windows, release trains, business priorities, dependencies, constraints, and support coverage.

•        Lead release planning and readiness reviews, confirming that build, testing, documentation, approvals, operational handover, monitoring, rollback, and validation requirements are complete.

•        Coordinate CAB preparation and participation, including change assessment, impact analysis, risk evaluation, stakeholder alignment, decision logging, and escalation of unresolved concerns.

•        Facilitate go/no-go decisions and hold clear authority to recommend postponement or rejection when release quality, compliance, or operational readiness is insufficient.

•        Oversee the creation, quality review, approval, and execution of release and cutover plans, including sequencing, dependency management, rollback strategies, and post-deployment checks.

•        Coordinate production deployments across integration middleware, and supporting tooling.

•        Ensure adherence to Opella governance, security, quality, data privacy, and applicable regulatory requirements, including GxP and SoX controls where relevant.

•        Coordinate post-release validation, monitor stabilization, ensure defects and issues are correctly tracked, and lead post-implementation reviews for significant or unsuccessful releases.

•        Maintain release dashboards, KPIs, decision records, audit evidence, and stakeholder reporting to provide transparent visibility of release status, risk, performance, and upcoming demand.

•        Analyze release performance and release-related incidents to improve success rate, schedule predictability, deployment reliability, automation, cycle time, and stakeholder experience.

•        Drive adoption of standardized release templates, checklists, controls, communication practices, and automation across all integration teams, markets, and technology platforms.

•        Maintain close collaboration with product owners, architects, project managers, developers, testers, platform teams, application teams, service management, and operational support.

•        Own and evolve release-related artifacts in ServiceNow and the integration catalog, ensuring traceability between changes, interfaces, technical assets, approvals, and production outcomes.

About you

Technical background required

•        10+ years of experience as part of a release management ecosystem, with demonstrated 3+ years on end-to-end ownership of complex enterprise releases.

•        Proven experience leading release governance, CAB coordination, change assessment, release readiness, go/no-go decisions, deployment control, and post-release reviews.

•        Strong practical knowledge of ITIL Change Enablement and Release Management, software development lifecycle practices, DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment automation.

•        Experience coordinating concurrent releases across global, cross-functional teams in complex cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.

•        Good understanding of enterprise integration technologies, API lifecycle, messaging and event-driven patterns, middleware, managed file transfer, data integration, and interface operations.

•        Familiarity with technologies such as SAP Integration Suite, API gateways, iPaaS, Azure, observability platforms, Git-based delivery, Infrastructure as Code, and ServiceNow.

•        Good understanding of application, infrastructure, network, security, and operational dependencies relevant to production integration deployments.

•        Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments is strongly preferred, particularly with GxP, SoX, information security, auditability, and data privacy controls.

•        Experience with SAP and ERP integration landscapes is an advantage.

•        ITIL v4 certification is preferred. Additional certifications in project management, Agile, DevOps, or change management are an advantage.

Soft skills required

•        Exceptional organization and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple releases, dependencies, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.

•        Strong judgment and decision-making under pressure, with the confidence to challenge readiness and escalate risk when required.

•        Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate technical release details into clear business impacts and executive updates.

•        Demonstrated ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to disciplined execution.

•        Ability to influence without direct authority and build trust in a global matrix organization.

•        Calm, structured, and solution-oriented approach during high-pressure deployment windows and production issues.

•        Proactive continuous-improvement mindset, with a strong orientation toward automation, simplification, quality, and measurable outcomes.
