What if your internship gave you a front-row seat to how an international company builds its reputation, engages with the media and brings its stories to life across markets? At Opella, that’s exactly what you’ll get to explore.

About the job:

Your mission: help bring Opella’s stories to the world

As our Global Media Relations Intern, you’ll work closely with our Global Media Relations Lead and a small, international communications team. You’ll get hands-on experience across corporate and brand communications, with the opportunity to contribute to projects that span multiple countries and stakeholders.

This is not a back-office internship. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day work of media relations, while helping build the processes, tools and editorial foundations of a growing communications function.

Team: Global Media Relations, within Corporate Communications

Main responsibilities:

1. Help build our global press office

  • Contribute to the organization and development of Opella’s global press office, including media databases, contact lists and working processes.
  • Help coordinate incoming media requests and prepare background information for journalists and spokespeople.
  • Support the preparation of interview briefings, press materials and key messages.

2. Turn news into insights

  • Monitor media coverage across markets and identify relevant stories, trends and reputational topics.
  • Analyze coverage and prepare clear, actionable reports to help the team understand how Opella and its brands are being talked about.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen our media presence and improve the way we communicate.

3. Bring international stories to life

  • Contribute to the preparation and coordination of global media campaigns around corporate milestones, brand news and key announcements.
  • Help adapt and coordinate communications across countries, ensuring consistency while taking local needs into account.
  • Get involved in projects such as the rollout of a press release across multiple markets.

4. Shape leadership communications

  • Contribute to the editorial planning of LinkedIn content for Opella’s leadership team.
  • Help transform corporate news and business milestones into clear, engaging content for external audiences.
  • Work with different teams to gather information and bring stories to life.
  • Your scope will evolve as you learn, take ownership of tasks and discover where you can make the greatest contribution.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive and eager to learn — someone who enjoys turning information into clear messages and wants to understand how a global company communicates with the outside world.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Education: Are currently studying for a master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Corporate Communications or a related field. Master’s students in their first year may also be considered if they bring a particularly strong fit.
  • Languages: Are fluent in English (C1/C2) and confident writing, speaking and collaborating in an international environment. French is a plus, but not a requirement. What matters most is your ability to communicate confidently in English and your enthusiasm for international media relations.
  • Skills:
  • Are comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Have a genuine interest in media relations, corporate communications, public relations or the media landscape. Previous experience in these areas is a plus, not a prerequisite.
  • Are organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage several topics and deadlines at once.
  • Bring positive energy, initiative and a collaborative mindset. You enjoy meeting people, asking questions and working with colleagues from different teams and backgrounds.

Ready to help shape our story? If you’re curious about how brands and companies build their reputation, excited by international communications and looking for an internship where no two projects are quite the same, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll gain

  • A global perspective: exposure to media relations and communications projects involving multiple countries and markets.
  • Real hands-on experience: involvement in press office operations, media monitoring, journalist engagement, corporate storytelling and leadership communications.
  • A seat close to the action: direct collaboration with the Global Media Relations Lead and an experienced, close-knit communications team.
  • Room to grow: varied assignments, increasing responsibility and the opportunity to help shape a growing global communications function.
  • A meaningful mission: work in the consumer healthcare sector, where the way we communicate can help people better understand health and self-care.

Why us?

At Opella, you will enjoy doing challenging, purposeful work, empowered to develop consumer brands with passion and creativity. This is your chance to grow new skills and be part of a bold, collaborative, and inclusive culture where people can thrive and be at their best every day.

Opella values diversity in all its forms and is committed to fostering a workplace where everyone can belong and excel. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
