Position Summary
The Salesforce Application Administrator II is a hands-on individual contributor who administers and supports Salesforce and connected applications used by Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, and other GTM teams. The role independently manages configuration, access, data quality, reporting, declarative automation, releases, and operational support within established standards.
This role is designed for an administrator who can independently own well-defined, moderately complex work. The administrator provides first-line troubleshooting and operational support for integrations, while partnering with platform owners and other specialists for custom development, middleware, and architecture decisions. The ideal candidate is curious about emerging technologies and willing to explore practical uses of approved AI capabilities when they support a defined business need.
What You'll Do
Administer and support Salesforce
- Manage users, roles, permission sets, profiles, queues, public groups, and application access using least-privilege practices.
- Configure and maintain objects, fields, page layouts, Lightning record pages, record types, picklists, validation rules, reports, and dashboards.
- Monitor application health, scheduled jobs, storage, licenses, integrations, and recurring support issues.
- Troubleshoot incidents and requests, complete root-cause analysis, and document resolutions and preventive actions.
- Support sandbox management, testing, release activities, deployment validation, and production readiness.
Build automation and explore emerging capabilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand GTM workflows, clarify requirements, and identify opportunities to reduce manual work.
- Build, test, document, and maintain Salesforce Flow and other approved workflow automations.
- Explore approved AI tools and platform capabilities and help the team evaluate where they may provide business value.
- Measure outcomes such as reduced manual effort, fewer recurring issues, improved data quality, faster process completion, or better user adoption.
Support integrations and data flows
- Provide operational support for integrations between Salesforce and connected GTM, marketing, ERP, data, productivity, automation, and customer platforms.
- Perform first-line troubleshooting of API, connector, webhook, authentication, permission, mapping, synchronization, and data-quality issues; escalate custom-development, middleware, and architecture needs to the accountable engineering teams.
- Coordinate with Integration Engineers, AI/Automation Engineers, vendors, and platform owners on interface changes, incidents, testing, releases, and support transitions.
- Document integration dependencies, data flows, ownership, monitoring, failure handling, and escalation paths.
- Assist with imports, exports, deduplication, reconciliation, and controlled data changes using approved tools and processes.
Operate with discipline
- Follow security, privacy, responsible AI, architecture, change-management, testing, and governance expectations.
- Participate in backlog refinement, estimation, sprint work, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate status, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
- Contribute reusable administration patterns, documentation, and knowledge that improve team productivity and supportability.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience administering Salesforce in a business environment.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce security and access, data model, declarative configuration, reports and dashboards, and release practices.
- Experience building and supporting Salesforce Flow or comparable workflow automation.
- Interest in learning and responsibly exploring AI-assisted tools and emerging Salesforce capabilities as they become relevant to the team.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, authentication, webhooks, data movement, and cross-system troubleshooting.
- Ability to translate business needs into supportable configuration, automation, integration, reporting, or process improvements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance user needs with security, privacy, data quality, simplicity, governance, and long-term supportability.
- Experience working with Sales, Marketing, or related GTM processes.
Education and Qualifications

- Understanding of security, privacy, access management, change control, testing, and operational support expectations.
Preferred
- Salesforce Administrator certification; Platform App Builder or Business Analyst certification is beneficial.
- Experience with one or more Salesforce products or connected GTM platforms relevant to the organization’s environment.
- Exposure to Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce, generative AI assistants, or similar emerging capabilities is helpful but not required.
