About Magnet Biomedicine
Magnet is a biotechnology company pioneering the discovery of oral molecular glues - small molecules that induce proximity between proteins to modulate their function. Our proprietary TrueGlue(TM) platform is designed to address hard-to-drug targets across cancer and immune-mediated diseases.
With support from ARCH Venture Partners, Newpath Partners, Taiho Ventures, and Eli Lilly, Magnet is advancing internal programs in oncology, immunology, and inflammation. Magnet has also entered into a collaboration and license agreement with Eli Lilly to discover, develop, and commercialize specific molecular glue therapeutics in oncology.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on biologist to join our team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in designing, executing, and interpreting experiments to develop novel protein-protein interaction strategies that modulate target protein function. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation therapeutics and make a significant impact on the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
The successful candidate will conduct phenotypic cell-based assays, enzymatic assays, and binding experiments while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to discover and develop molecular glue therapeutics. The ideal candidate is scientifically curious, highly collaborative, and motivated to continuously expand their technical expertise while contributing to a fast-paced research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute cellular and molecular biology experiments to support discovery programs.
- Evaluate protein-protein interactions using approaches such as NanoBiT, NanoBRET, IP-MS, ALPHAscreen, and related technologies.
- Experiment with human whole blood, human biopsies and/or lentivirus (BCL2+).
- Analyze experimental data, draw scientific conclusions, and communicate results to project teams and company colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and complete experimental records within the electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
- Independently troubleshoot technical experimental challenges and seek input when appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with scientists across disciplines to solve scientific problems and advance research objectives.
- Continuously expand technical expertise and adopt new methodologies to support evolving research needs.
