The HR Business Partner will partner closely with departmental leaders to align people strategies with organizational and business objectives.
This role provides strategic HR guidance across talent management, workforce planning, succession planning, retention, engagement, and change management.
You will act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders while helping teams navigate organizational change and employee-development priorities.
The position combines data-driven workforce planning with practical HR solutions that support employee growth and organizational effectiveness.
You will collaborate with specialists across compensation, benefits, employee relations, learning and development, and disability management.
The role offers meaningful influence across a healthcare environment and requires strong judgment, confidentiality, and stakeholder-management skills.
This is a full-time remote opportunity with occasional travel to Morgantown, West Virginia, approximately one to two times per month as needed.
Accountabilities

Partner with departmental and business leaders to deliver HR strategies, programs, and services aligned with organizational objectives.

Serve as a trusted HR advisor by providing coaching, insight, and practical solutions related to employee management, development, and organizational needs.

Attend department meetings and maintain a strong understanding of operational priorities, workforce challenges, and business activities.

Support change-management initiatives and act as a change partner across assigned business and service lines.

Drive talent-growth initiatives through talent assessment, career development, and broader employee-development programs.

Lead workforce planning initiatives, including current-state analysis, gap assessments, action planning, implementation, and progress monitoring.

Partner with leadership on succession and replacement planning for critical and key positions.

Facilitate talent reviews and succession-planning discussions and provide guidance on related tools, processes, policies, and best practices.

Develop, coordinate, and monitor succession-planning reports while maintaining the integrity of related data within HR information systems.

Research and implement employee-retention strategies, including conducting exit interviews, employee focus groups, and management focus groups to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Help leaders interpret employee-engagement survey results and develop strategies that foster a positive and engaged workplace culture.

Collaborate regularly with HR disciplines including compensation, benefits, employee relations, learning and development, and disability management.

Support local audits and other HR-related compliance activities.

Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, workforce, and organizational information.
Requirements

Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field plus at least 3 years of professional HR experience, with an emphasis on HR generalist responsibilities; or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus at least 5 years of professional HR experience.

Strong HR generalist background with experience in workforce planning, succession planning, compensation, change management, employee retention, or related programs.

Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with senior-level management and influence leaders across business functions.

Recent experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.

Working knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws applicable to human resources.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project-prioritization skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
