This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an International Accountant based in Spain.
This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple entities, countries, and regulatory environments.
You will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely tax compliance.
The position combines statutory accounting, group reporting, VAT, reconciliations, audit coordination, and financial analysis.
You’ll collaborate with internal finance teams as well as auditors, tax advisors, and local accounting providers across different jurisdictions.
Your work will help maintain strong financial controls, reliable reporting, and compliance with local and international requirements.
The role also offers opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to a growing, internationally distributed finance function.

Accountabilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with applicable local and international accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including group consolidation and analytical reporting.
- Review and submit VAT and other tax declarations accurately and within required deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with local providers on transfer pricing studies and related documentation.
- Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and local accounting service providers.
- Reconcile accounts and verify the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, including bank reconciliations.
- Support the development of more efficient accounting processes and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Contribute to accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting across the international organization.
Requirements:
- 5–9 years of professional accounting experience, ideally within an international or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT compliance, and group reporting.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and countries.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Experience with transfer pricing or intercompany transactions is an advantage.
- Understanding of multicurrency accounting is a plus.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in multicultural, international environments.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-growing organization is beneficial.
- Additional European language skills are an advantage.
