This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Client Manager, Commercial Risk - Innovation Practice based in United States.
This role supports commercial clients by managing day-to-day insurance account activities and delivering responsive, high-quality service. You will work closely with Advisors, Risk Management leaders, client service professionals, carriers, and insureds to keep accounts organized and moving forward. The position combines client relationship management, insurance administration, risk advisory support, and account coordination. You will help manage policies, renewals, claims information, contracts, certificates, and coverage needs while identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to business development through referrals and relationship building. Success requires strong organization, insurance knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Accountabilities

Manage day-to-day activities for assigned commercial insurance accounts, including policy reviews, policy changes, renewals, contract reviews, certificates, marketing activities, and surplus lines filings.

Maintain accurate and complete client records within the agency management system, ensuring documentation and communications follow established workflows and procedures.

Serve as a responsive point of contact for client questions by phone and email, providing timely information, coordinating follow-up, and escalating issues when appropriate.

Support claims management by monitoring claims, maintaining current claim information, communicating updates internally, and assisting insureds in coordination with claims teams.

Prepare professional client correspondence, renewal materials, insurance documentation, and other account-related communications.

Perform accounting and mathematical activities such as invoicing, premium allocation, and other financial or administrative tasks associated with client accounts.

Review leases, contracts, financial statements, and other client materials in connection with insurance requirements and risk considerations.

Counsel clients on coverage and exposures and identify opportunities for additional or appropriate insurance protection.

Attend client meetings with Advisors or Risk Management leaders when requested and contribute to effective client service and account management.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with insurance carrier partners while developing knowledge of carrier requirements, capabilities, and account attributes.

Support colleagues with client inquiries and account processing when needed, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and service delivery, bringing issues and discrepancies to the appropriate leadership.

Develop referrals and new business opportunities through existing client relationships, prospecting resources, and business development systems.
Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager or comparable commercial insurance role.

Ability to obtain and maintain the state insurance licenses required to provide risk management consulting or insurance solutions in applicable jurisdictions, or willingness and ability to obtain required licenses within the first 90 days.

Strong understanding of commercial insurance account management, including policy administration, renewals, claims, certificates, coverage, carrier relationships, and client service.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information professionally and effectively to clients, colleagues, and insurance partners.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with the ability to learn insurance-specific and agency management software.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving account issues.

Ability to collaborate effectively with Advisors, Risk Management professionals, client service teams, carriers, and other stakeholders.
