Capacity Deployment Lead - Data Center Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Capacity Deployment Lead - Data Center Operations based in the United States.

The Capacity Deployment Lead will own the successful deployment of new compute capacity across a growing network of partner-operated data centers. You will manage execution from construction kickoff through ready-for-service, including hardware delivery, integration, QA, power-on, network turn-up, validation, and operational handover. Working closely with data center partners, hardware vendors, operations teams, and internal stakeholders, you will establish priorities, quality gates, and deployment standards. The role combines program leadership with hands-on technical execution and requires significant on-site involvement. You will use schedule, ticket, and telemetry data to validate progress and identify risks before they impact delivery. Lessons learned from each deployment will inform processes, standards, and playbooks for future sites and hardware platforms.

• Own deployment outcomes for assigned sites and data-hall waves, ensuring capacity units and halls meet ready-for-service milestones while identifying and escalating risks early.
• Engage from construction kickoff to verify deployment readiness, including floor access, power, network connectivity, receiving paths, and partner staffing.
• Maintain a strong on-site presence during delivery, deployment, QA, and close-out activities, directly verifying work quality and supporting on-site teams with technical expertise.
• Coordinate with site leadership and operations partners through rack delivery and receiving, integration QA, power-on, network turn-up, burn-in, and validation, establishing daily priorities and quality gates.
• Validate handover readiness for each capacity unit and data hall, confirming acceptance criteria, burn-in completion, documentation, spare parts, ticketing, and transition into production operations and maintenance.
• Convert deployment lessons learned and optimization opportunities into program-wide improvements, including procedures, checklists, acceptance standards, and performance metrics.
• Expand deployment processes to new sites and hardware platforms while adapting standards and acceptance criteria to evolving infrastructure.
• Communicate deployment status, dependencies, constraints, and risks to engineering, capacity planning, site scheduling stakeholders, and leadership.
• Work with vendors, OEMs, and third-party operational partners to establish measurable outcomes, monitor execution, and drive corrective actions when required.
• Support the broader capacity delivery program by extending operational coverage across an expanding portfolio of sites and compute platforms.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data center operations, hardware deployment, or a related field, including experience as a manager, technical lead, or comparable role with accountability for delivery milestones.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale compute or network hardware deployments across multiple sites or data-hall waves, from early site readiness through ready for service.
• Proven experience managing vendors, OEMs, contractors, or third-party workforces against measurable milestones, quality gates, operational reviews, and corrective actions.
• Strong hands-on technical knowledge of server, network, and rack-level hardware, with the ability to independently verify deployment quality and assess vendor-reported status.
• Experience developing, implementing, or substantially improving operational processes and deployment standards.
• Comfortable working with schedules, ticketing systems, telemetry, and operational data to assess progress and make informed decisions.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work on site for extended periods, including during delivery surges and infrastructure turn-up windows; approximately 50% travel is expected.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience.
• Experience with GPU or accelerator systems and high-density, liquid-cooled infrastructure is a strong plus.
• Experience launching operations at a new data center or data hall, from commissioning handoff through initial deployment, is preferred.
• Experience deploying multiple accelerator platforms or introducing new hardware platforms into an established deployment program is advantageous.
• Familiarity with partner-operated or colocation environments where on-site operations are managed by third parties is beneficial.
• Knowledge of dense accelerator network cabling, optics, and high-speed interconnects at rack or pod scale is a plus.
