Sr SAP SD & Vistex Functional Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr SAP SD & Vistex Functional Consultant based in  United States.

The Senior SAP SD & Vistex Functional Consultant will lead the design, configuration, and optimization of enterprise Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes and commercial incentive management solutions. This role combines deep SAP Sales and Distribution expertise with advanced Vistex capabilities to support complex pricing, rebates, chargebacks, and claims management. The successful candidate will translate business requirements into scalable functional solutions while driving SAP modernization and process efficiency. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical architects, and cross-functional teams, they will ensure seamless integration across enterprise systems. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic SAP ECC and S/4HANA initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a senior consulting opportunity with remote flexibility and occasional travel aligned with project milestones.

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, functional design, implementation, and configuration of SAP SD and Vistex solutions supporting Order-to-Cash and commercial incentive management processes.

• Configure and optimize SAP SD functionalities, including sales orders, shipping, billing, pricing procedures, and related business processes.

• Design, implement, and maintain Vistex solutions covering incentives, rebates, billbacks, chargebacks, distributor claims, and deal management.

• Conduct business blueprinting workshops, requirements gathering, and fit-gap analyses to align commercial objectives with SAP and Vistex best practices.

• Optimize SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash processes using modern data structures and S/4HANA capabilities.

• Leverage SAP Settlement Management where appropriate to simplify and enhance commercial incentive processing.

• Ensure seamless integration between SAP SD, Vistex, and related enterprise modules, including FI/CO, Materials Management (MM), and Production Planning (PP).

• Collaborate with ABAP developers, technical architects, and integration teams to design custom extensions, interfaces, and user exits when standard SAP functionality is insufficient.

• Promote a clean-core SAP architecture, ensuring custom developments align with modernization and maintainability principles.

• Lead functional testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and validation of business-critical processes.

• Support data migration, deployment planning, cutover execution, and post-implementation stabilization.

• Provide functional expertise and guidance to business stakeholders, ensuring solutions meet operational, financial, and commercial requirements.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process automation, and optimization across SAP SD and Vistex landscapes.

Requirements:

• 8–12+ years of hands-on SAP functional experience, particularly in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), with substantial implementation and support expertise.

• At least 4–5 years of dedicated experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Vistex solutions.

• Extensive knowledge of SAP SD master data, pricing procedures, access sequences, condition types, Available-to-Promise (ATP), credit management, and billing processes.

• Strong specialization in Vistex Incentive Administration (IP) and Data Maintenance (DM), including calculation line items, deployment codes, matrix structures, status flows, accruals, and settlements.

• Proven experience working with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments, including understanding structural changes and modernization considerations.

• Familiarity with S/4HANA data architecture, including the transition from traditional SAP SD indexes to Core Data Services (CDS) views.

• Demonstrated expertise in Order-to-Cash process design, commercial pricing, rebates, incentive management, and enterprise business process optimization.

• Experience integrating SAP SD and Vistex with FI/CO, MM, PP, and other relevant enterprise modules.

• Strong functional design and configuration capabilities, with experience collaborating with ABAP developers and technical architects.

• Knowledge of SAP clean-core principles and approaches to custom extensions and interfaces.

• Experience leading requirements workshops, fit-gap assessments, testing, UAT, data migration, and deployment activities.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical SAP solutions.

• Strong consultative mindset and stakeholder management capabilities, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical business audiences.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.

• Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment while managing multiple priorities and project deliverables.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% based on project milestones.
