Accountabilities:
- Lead end-to-end month-end closing activities for assigned entities and accounting areas, including journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analysis.
- Manage bank and cash reconciliations across more than 20 bank and payment accounts, covering multiple entities and currencies, while ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial documentation and ensure that all account balances are properly supported and traceable.
- Monitor subscription billing and revenue workflows, identifying and resolving issues between billing platforms and the ERP system, including synchronization errors, credit notes, and customer tax or VAT data discrepancies.
- Support revenue recognition processes within NetSuite, troubleshooting workflow and approval issues that may delay financial postings.
- Oversee accounts payable and expense management processes, ensuring invoices and receipts are properly recorded, transactions are accurately coded, approvals are completed, and payment documentation is retained.
- Maintain the integrity of balance sheet accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and intercompany balances, while monitoring aging items and coordinating follow-ups.
- Identify recurring accounting discrepancies and address their root causes through improved processes, systems, and internal controls.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, reconciliation checklists, and documentation to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate the month-end close and strengthen confidence in financial reporting.
- Provide ad hoc accounting and financial analysis support, assist with audit requests and process improvements, and contribute to tax return preparation when required.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of month-end closing activities.
- Strong expertise in account reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting documentation, with the ability to investigate and explain balance discrepancies.
- Previous experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of multi-entity accounting and multi-currency financial operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing lasting solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple accounting deadlines and deliverables.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities in a fast-paced, fully remote, international environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate financial matters clearly.
- Experience with SaaS subscription billing and revenue recognition processes is a strong advantage, particularly familiarity with Chargebee.
