The Enterprise Solutions Engineer will lead technical engagement with enterprise customers, helping organizations modernize their data infrastructure, strengthen security, and unlock new opportunities through innovative technology solutions. Working closely with enterprise sales executives and channel partners, you will translate complex business challenges into scalable, high-impact technical architectures. You will support the entire sales cycle, from early discovery and solution design to technical validation and deal closure, across both new customer opportunities and strategic existing accounts. Your expertise will span enterprise storage, hybrid cloud, virtualization, and data protection, with a growing focus on AI readiness and modern data strategies. In this customer-facing role, you will collaborate with engineering, solution architecture, and professional services teams to deliver practical solutions aligned with customer goals. This is a remote opportunity for candidates based in the Ottawa metropolitan area, offering a high-performance, team-oriented environment focused on innovation, customer value, and commercial success.

Accountabilities

  • Serve as the technical lead and trusted advisor for enterprise customers across the assigned territory, building strong relationships and aligning technical solutions with business objectives.

  • Partner closely with enterprise sales executives to develop account strategies, build sales pipelines, advance opportunities, and achieve revenue targets.

  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with channel partners and partner solutions engineers, coordinating joint sales strategies, customer engagements, and co-selling activities.

  • Lead in-depth customer discovery sessions to uncover business challenges, assess existing infrastructure, identify technical gaps, and understand future-state requirements.

  • Design, architect, and configure solutions across enterprise data infrastructure technologies, including ONTAP, storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), block and file storage, hybrid cloud, and data protection.

  • Translate customer requirements into practical, deployable architectures that address immediate needs while supporting long-term scalability, security, and business growth.

  • Manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously, ranging from new customer acquisition to complex, long-cycle enterprise engagements.

  • Support account expansion and retention initiatives by identifying opportunities to protect existing business, extend solution adoption, and capture additional growth potential.

  • Advise customers on emerging technology priorities, including AI readiness, data strategy, hybrid cloud adoption, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Collaborate with solutions architects, engineering teams, and professional services to validate proposed architectures and support successful customer outcomes.

  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and communicate the business value of proposed solutions to technical stakeholders, business leaders, and decision-makers.

  • Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas to customer conversations and differentiate proposed solutions.

  • Balance strategic account planning with hands-on technical execution, ensuring customer needs, sales priorities, and technical requirements remain aligned.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in technical presales, solutions engineering, systems engineering, or a related customer-facing technical role within a quota-driven sales environment.

  • Demonstrated success supporting enterprise or Fortune 1000 customers through complex, multi-stage sales cycles.

  • Strong expertise in infrastructure technologies, with substantial experience in enterprise storage and storage-adjacent solutions.

  • Deep understanding of on-premises infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, block storage, and file storage, as well as their integration into broader enterprise architectures.

  • Proven ability to design and configure technical solutions within customer environments, translating business and technical requirements into deployable architectures.

  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments, virtualization platforms, and data protection and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages while balancing competing priorities and customer requirements.

  • Experience collaborating with channel partners, including partner solutions engineers, to coordinate technical strategy and execute joint sales initiatives.

  • Strong discovery, communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in terms of business value.

  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution, enabling the design of solutions that deliver immediate results and support long-term customer objectives.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams, customers, partners, and cross-functional technical specialists.

  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning.

  • Location requirement: Candidates must reside in the Ottawa metropolitan area to support customers and channel partners throughout the assigned territory. Although the position is remote, applicants outside the designated area will not be considered.

  • Target on-target earnings (OTE): CAD $214,200–$277,200, including base salary and potential commission when performance targets are achieved.

  • Final compensation may vary based on location, qualifications, experience, education, and other relevant factors.

  • Retirement or pension plans.

  • Paid time off and various leave options.

  • Employee stock purchase plan, where applicable.
