Accountabilities

  • Drive regional sales performance: Achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas, revenue targets, growth objectives, gross profit goals, and key performance indicators while managing inventory, consignment, and expenses within approved budgets.

  • Execute sales strategies: Implement regional sales plans and commercial initiatives, ensuring sales representatives effectively promote products to existing and prospective customers.

  • Develop business plans: Create and execute annual regional business plans, establish performance measures, and evaluate results against commercial objectives.

  • Monitor market trends: Analyze customer needs, competitive activity, market opportunities, and regional performance to provide actionable recommendations to leadership.

  • Recruit and develop sales talent: Recruit, select, onboard, train, coach, and retain company-employed and independent sales representatives to maintain effective territory coverage.

  • Lead field sales execution: Work alongside sales representatives regularly, evaluate their performance against established objectives, and provide coaching to improve sales effectiveness and customer engagement.

  • Establish performance expectations: Set annual sales objectives, monitor quarterly results, and implement performance management practices that support accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Build team capabilities: Identify training and development needs, strengthen clinical and technical competency, and create development opportunities for high-potential sales professionals.

  • Ensure compliance: Enforce company policies, establish appropriate discounting practices, and monitor compliance related to demonstration and implant inventory.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with internal teams to align commercial priorities, support customer needs, and improve regional execution.

  • At least 5 years of successful medical device sales experience, preferably in shoulder arthroplasty or orthopedic implants.

  • At least 5 years of proven sales management experience, ideally within the shoulder arthroplasty market.

  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales quotas and delivering measurable regional revenue growth.

  • Experience leading both direct sales representatives and independent, contract-based distribution teams.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise and medical device sales processes, territory management, and regional commercial strategy.

  • Proven ability to manage revenue growth, gross profit, sales forecasting, inventory, consignment, and expense budgets.

  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, evaluating, and retaining sales talent.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into effective action plans.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across departments and build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, distributors, and healthcare professionals.
