As a Cyber Fraud Expert, you will play a critical role in identifying, investigating, and preventing cyber-enabled fraud across digital platforms, customer accounts, and identities. You will combine cybersecurity expertise, digital investigation techniques, and data-driven risk analysis to uncover sophisticated fraud schemes and emerging threats. Using advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation, you will strengthen detection capabilities and help reduce exposure to evolving cyber risks. You will collaborate with cybersecurity, technology, claims, product, and risk teams to turn complex investigative findings into actionable prevention strategies. This role offers the opportunity to influence security controls, improve fraud response, and protect customers in a technology-driven environment. Join a collaborative team where analytical thinking, investigative curiosity, and innovative problem-solving contribute to stronger digital security and customer trust.

Accountabilities

  • Cyber Fraud Investigation: Investigate complex cyber-enabled fraud involving customer accounts, identities, and digital interactions. Examine suspicious activity, establish connections between incidents, and identify the methods and techniques used by fraudsters.
  • Threat Detection and Analysis: Analyze and correlate digital signals across multiple channels to uncover suspicious patterns, related events, and emerging fraud trends that may not be visible through individual systems or products.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate risks across customer-facing digital channels, identify vulnerabilities and gaps in existing controls, and recommend improvements to reduce fraud exposure and strengthen security.
  • AI-Driven Fraud Prevention: Leverage artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation to improve fraud detection capabilities, accelerate investigations, identify emerging patterns, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Investigative Insights and Recommendations: Translate complex technical findings into clear risk assessments, actionable detection methods, indicators of suspicious activity, and practical recommendations for fraud prevention and risk reduction.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cybersecurity, claims, product, technology, and risk teams to coordinate investigations, support incident response, and implement effective remediation strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring fraud patterns, root causes, and control weaknesses to support the development of stronger investigative processes, more effective detection mechanisms, and improved risk management practices.
  • Emerging Threat Awareness: Monitor evolving cyber threats and fraud techniques, applying investigative judgment and technical curiosity to anticipate risks and strengthen protective measures.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: At least five years of experience in cybersecurity, fraud investigation, digital investigations, threat analysis, risk analytics, or a related field.
  • Cyber Fraud Expertise: Demonstrated ability to investigate complex fraud activity, analyze suspicious digital behavior, identify threat patterns, and assess risks affecting customer accounts, identities, and digital interactions.
  • Technical Investigation Skills: Experience with digital investigation methodologies, cyber threat analysis, fraud detection techniques, security tools, and the identification of vulnerabilities or control gaps.
  • Data Analytics and AI: Ability to interpret complex datasets, correlate digital signals, recognize emerging patterns, and apply analytics, artificial intelligence, or automation to improve fraud detection and investigative outcomes.
  • Risk Management and Root Cause Analysis: Strong understanding of risk assessment, root cause analysis, threat mitigation, operational risk, and the development of actionable security and fraud prevention recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven experience working with multidisciplinary teams and translating investigative findings into practical risk mitigation strategies, improved detection capabilities, or stronger security controls.
  • Analytical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, sound investigative judgment, and the ability to connect seemingly unrelated events to identify broader fraud patterns.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex technical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders, supporting informed decisions and coordinated action.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: A proactive approach to investigating emerging threats, addressing ambiguous situations, and continuously improving fraud prevention processes in a rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.
  • Additional Employment Requirements: Candidates must be willing to undergo a background investigation. Employment-based visa sponsorship is generally not available for this position.

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Annual compensation ranging from $120,000 to $190,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Remote Work Flexibility: Full-time work-from-home opportunities for eligible employees based in the United States.
  • Technology Equipment: Comprehensive remote-work technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Internet Reimbursement: Monthly connectivity reimbursement for eligible remote employees to help offset internet expenses.
  • Meaningful Work: The opportunity to protect customers, strengthen digital security, and help prevent sophisticated cyber fraud.
  • Professional Development: An environment that encourages innovation, analytical thinking, technical growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative Culture: Opportunities to work with cross-functional experts across cybersecurity, technology, product, claims, and risk management.
