This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Content based in the United States.

Lead the development of a distinctive content strategy that strengthens brand authority and drives meaningful engagement across the B2B procurement market. In this hands-on leadership role, you will shape compelling narratives, build thought leadership programs, and expand executive visibility across digital channels. You will oversee content creation and distribution across written, social, video, search, and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms. Working closely with marketing, design, product, executives, customers, and external partners, you will turn valuable insights into stories that resonate with enterprise audiences. You will also experiment with AI-enabled workflows to improve content quality, efficiency, and reach without compromising creativity or human judgment. This is an opportunity to build a scalable content engine, influence business growth, and help establish a recognizable voice in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Accountabilities:

As Director of Content, you will own the content strategy, editorial direction, distribution approach, and performance measurement framework. You will combine exceptional storytelling with experimentation, operational execution, and a clear focus on business outcomes.

  • Content strategy and thought leadership: Define and lead the content strategy across written, video, and other formats, ensuring the brand narrative is compelling, consistent, and differentiated.

  • Editorial creation and leadership: Write and edit high-quality content, helping executives and subject matter experts transform their expertise into engaging ideas, perspectives, and stories.

  • Customer and data-driven storytelling: Incorporate customer experiences, original research, data, executive insights, and strong points of view into repeatable content programs that build an engaged audience.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Brand and Design, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, executives, customers, and external specialists to develop and distribute impactful content.

  • Social media and executive visibility: Own the organic social strategy, particularly LinkedIn, and strengthen the presence of executives and employees as authentic voices within the procurement community.

  • Social content optimization: Develop playbooks, training, tools, and practices that encourage employee participation, while testing content formats, engaging audiences, and refining the strategy based on performance.

  • SEO and AI-powered discovery: Lead organic search and answer engine optimization (SEO, AEO, and GEO) strategies across platforms such as Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Reddit, and YouTube.

  • Content distribution: Identify emerging discovery channels and changing buyer behaviors, adapting content structure and distribution strategies to maximize visibility and relevance.

  • AI-powered content operations: Design, implement, and refine AI-enabled workflows for research, content creation, editing, repurposing, distribution, optimization, and measurement.

  • Workflow development and experimentation: Build practical solutions independently where appropriate, define requirements for more technical implementations, and evaluate which AI applications genuinely improve results.

  • Performance measurement: Establish meaningful metrics and leading indicators, including share of voice, audience engagement, executive reach, organic and AI visibility, branded search, qualified traffic, target-account engagement, content influence, pipeline, and revenue.

  • Continuous improvement: Use performance insights to improve content quality, distribution efficiency, audience growth, and the overall contribution of content to business objectives.

  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, strategic thinker, and hands-on builder who can establish scalable content programs in a fast-moving B2B environment. You should combine editorial excellence with digital distribution expertise, AI experimentation, and the ability to connect creative work to measurable business impact.

  • At least 7 years of experience in content marketing, editorial strategy, social media, organic growth, or a related discipline, ideally within a high-growth B2B SaaS company.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to develop compelling, original content.

  • Experience building content strategies, editorial programs, and repeatable systems from the ground up.

  • Deep understanding of B2B social media and LinkedIn, ideally including experience developing executive thought leadership and employee advocacy programs.

  • Strong knowledge of SEO and an active understanding of how answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) are changing organic discovery.

  • Demonstrated experience building or implementing AI-powered workflows that meaningfully improve marketing efficiency, effectiveness, or quality.

  • Ability to explain the problems addressed by AI workflows, how they were implemented, and the outcomes they achieved.

  • Comfort using data and performance metrics to connect content initiatives with audience growth, engagement, qualified traffic, pipeline, and business results.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with executives, cross-functional teams, customers, agencies, and external partners.

  • A proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and deliver results without relying on a large supporting team.

  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, changing buyer behavior, and new approaches to content creation and distribution.

  • Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience marketing to enterprise audiences.

  • Familiarity with procurement, finance, supply chain, or artificial intelligence markets.

  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth technology environment.

  • A demonstrated interest in testing emerging AI tools and building more effective content operations.

  • Benefits:

  • Annual compensation: $162,000–$225,000, including a bonus, depending on experience and location.

  • Equity opportunities.

  • Benefits package, including healthcare coverage.

  • Remote work arrangement, subject to the location eligibility requirements below.

  • Opportunity to shape a growing content function and build programs with meaningful influence on brand visibility, audience engagement, and revenue.

  • Collaborative environment with opportunities to work closely with marketing, design, product, executive leadership, customers, and external partners.

  • Location eligibility: Candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Tennessee, or Washington.
