This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Representative – Outbound EMEA based in France.

We are looking for a proactive, commercially driven Business Development Representative to accelerate growth across European markets for an innovative B2B SaaS solution. In this hands-on role, you will build targeted outbound campaigns, identify high-potential accounts, and engage decision-makers to generate qualified sales opportunities. You will combine strategic prospect research, cold calling, personalized email outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting to turn new contacts into meaningful business conversations. Leveraging modern sales tools and AI, you will optimize your approach while keeping authentic human interactions at the heart of the sales process. Working in a remote, international environment, you will have clear performance objectives and the freedom to contribute ideas that improve outbound effectiveness. This opportunity also offers a path toward broader sales responsibilities, including discovery conversations and product demonstrations, as your expertise develops.

Accountabilities:

  • Outbound Campaign Development: Build and execute targeted outbound campaigns focused on strategic industries, market segments, and organizations with strong potential to benefit from innovation management solutions.
  • Account Research and Targeting: Identify and prioritize organizations that fit the ideal customer profile, researching their industry, size, organizational structure, innovation maturity, and potential business challenges.
  • Stakeholder Identification: Identify and engage relevant decision-makers, including Innovation Managers, Heads of Innovation, Innovation Directors, and other stakeholders involved in innovation strategy and technology adoption.
  • Cold Calling and Prospect Engagement: Conduct regular outbound calls to initiate conversations, overcome initial objections, generate interest, and establish relationships with prospective customers.
  • Multichannel Prospecting: Execute coordinated outreach through phone, email, and LinkedIn, using personalized messaging, relevant customer examples, and contextual insights to increase engagement.
  • AI-Enabled Sales Prospecting: Leverage AI-powered tools, intent signals, LinkedIn research, and sales technology to improve account prioritization, personalize communications, prepare calls, and streamline administrative tasks.
  • Lead Qualification: Engage prospects in meaningful conversations to understand their current innovation processes, business challenges, existing tools, decision-making structures, and potential need for a new solution.
  • Qualified Opportunity Generation: Convert relevant prospect interactions into credible sales opportunities by confirming account fit, identifying business needs, engaging appropriate stakeholders, and establishing clear next steps.
  • Pipeline Management and Follow-Up: Maintain accurate CRM records, manage prospecting activities systematically, and follow up consistently across channels to nurture relationships and prevent promising opportunities from being lost.
  • Campaign Performance Optimization: Track performance indicators, analyze outreach results, review calls, test messaging approaches, and continuously improve prospecting strategies based on feedback and measurable outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Sales Collaboration: Work with the wider commercial team to share market insights, strengthen campaign effectiveness, and support the progression of qualified opportunities into deeper discovery discussions and product demonstrations.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Build product and market expertise, improve objection handling and qualification skills, and progressively take ownership of more complex sales activities as your commercial capabilities grow.

Requirements:

  • Professional Experience: At least two years of hands-on outbound B2B sales experience, including regular cold calling and independently prospecting new accounts.
  • Relevant Industry Background: Experience in business development, SaaS, technology sales, or selling complex B2B solutions is highly valued. Previous experience in innovation management is not required.
  • Cold Calling Confidence: A genuine interest in outbound sales and the ability to initiate conversations with unfamiliar prospects, handle objections constructively, and remain motivated through rejection.
  • Prospecting and Research Skills: Strong ability to identify suitable target accounts, research relevant stakeholders, understand organizational context, and develop personalized outreach strategies.
  • Commercial Acumen: A consultative mindset focused on understanding customer challenges, asking thoughtful questions, identifying buying signals, and qualifying opportunities rather than simply booking meetings.
  • Target Orientation: A results-driven approach with an interest in measurable performance, pipeline generation, conversion rates, and continuous improvement against commercial objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent spoken and written English is essential, with the ability to conduct natural, unscripted sales conversations, ask relevant follow-up questions, and communicate confidently with international stakeholders.
  • Additional Languages: Dutch is an advantage, while German, French, and other European languages are valuable assets for engaging prospects across diverse markets.
  • Technology and AI Proficiency: Comfort using CRM platforms, LinkedIn, prospecting tools, and AI-powered solutions to improve research, personalization, workflow efficiency, and sales performance.
  • Organization and Persistence: Strong time management, attention to detail, disciplined follow-up habits, and the ability to maintain accurate CRM records while managing multiple accounts and campaigns.
  • Learning Agility and Coachability: A proactive attitude, intellectual curiosity, willingness to receive feedback, and the ability to learn a specialized product and market quickly.
  • Independence and Initiative: A self-starting mindset, the ability to work effectively in a remote environment, and a willingness to take ownership of campaign execution and commercial results.
  • Location and Availability: Ability to work remotely from within Europe, in a time zone no more than approximately one hour ahead of or behind Central European Time.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Base Salary: €40,000–€43,000 gross annually, depending on experience.
  • Performance-Based Earnings: Target on-target earnings of approximately €55,000–€60,000 annually, combining base salary with variable compensation linked to commercial outcomes.
  • Outcome-Oriented Incentives: A performance structure that rewards qualified opportunities and business impact rather than call volume alone.
  • Remote Work Flexibility: Work remotely from within Europe, provided your location is within approximately one hour of Central European Time.
  • Meaningful Commercial Ownership: Take direct responsibility for generating qualified sales opportunities and contributing to business growth.
  • Opportunity to Shape the Sales Strategy: Join during an important growth phase and contribute ideas to improve outbound campaigns, targeting, messaging, and prospect engagement.
  • Modern Sales Technology: Access AI-powered tools and technology designed to reduce repetitive administrative work and improve prospecting efficiency.
  • Career Development: Opportunities to expand your responsibilities into discovery conversations, initial product demonstrations, industry-specific campaign development, and broader sales ownership.
  • International Working Environment: Engage with organizations across European markets and develop experience in enterprise-oriented B2B SaaS sales.
  • Coaching and Continuous Improvement: Benefit from a feedback-driven environment that encourages experimentation, skill development, and measurable progress.
