In this role, you will design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of firmware and embedded software. You will work extensively with Python-based automation, BIOS/UEFI validation, and system-level debugging across complex hardware and software environments. Collaborating with software engineers and cross-functional development teams, you will help identify technical issues and drive effective solutions throughout the development lifecycle. You will contribute to test strategy, release qualification, and continuous improvements in testing methodologies and tools. • Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automated test cases to validate firmware, embedded software, and server platform functionality.
• Test Planning and Execution: Create and execute comprehensive test plans, protocols, and documentation to ensure adequate coverage of software features and system requirements.
• Firmware and Platform Validation: Validate BIOS/UEFI, firmware components, embedded software, and server platforms to ensure system stability, functionality, and reliability.
• Defect Analysis and Debugging: Investigate software and firmware defects, analyze test failures, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• System Integration and Design Analysis: Evaluate system designs and determine the coding, programming, integration, and validation activities required to meet project objectives.
• Release Qualification: Support end-to-end testing, defect tracking, and release readiness activities to ensure software meets quality standards before deployment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, systems engineers, and internal or external development partners to resolve technical issues and deliver reliable solutions.
• Technical Issue Resolution: Lead or contribute to the investigation of complex system-level problems, communicate findings, and support effective technical decision-making.
• Testing Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve automation frameworks, test methodologies, tools, and engineering workflows to increase efficiency and software quality.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: Explore and apply AI and generative AI tools, including the development of AI agents where appropriate, to improve test generation, automation, debugging, and engineering productivity.
• Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate testing documentation, communicate project progress, and present technical proposals and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in embedded software testing and development, firmware validation, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Firmware Expertise: Strong knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, firmware architecture, and server platform validation.
• Python Automation: Hands-on experience developing Python scripts, test automation frameworks, and automated validation solutions.
• Testing Methodologies: Proven experience with test planning, test execution, defect analysis, debugging, and software release qualification.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, with familiarity with C, Go, or other relevant programming languages considered valuable.
• Embedded Systems Knowledge: Understanding of embedded Linux, device drivers, computer architecture, hardware devices, and communication protocols.
• System-Level Testing: Ability to troubleshoot complex interactions between hardware, firmware, operating systems, and software components across multiple platforms.
• Software Development Practices: Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and established software testing principles.
• AI and Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with AI and generative AI tools for test design, debugging, automation, or AI-agent development is desirable.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong critical thinking and diagnostic abilities, with a structured approach to investigating complex technical issues.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts, present design proposals, and collaborate effectively across engineering teams.
• Leadership and Execution: Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a results-oriented mindset, with the ability to contribute to technical decisions and drive quality improvements.
