This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sourcing Manager – Data Center Infrastructure based in the United States.
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for complex data center construction projects, helping secure the critical equipment, materials, and supplier partnerships needed to deliver mission-critical infrastructure. In this hands-on leadership role, you will transform technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, supplier capacity, and project schedules. You will oversee competitive bidding, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and sourcing decisions across electrical, mechanical, cooling, and low-voltage systems. Working closely with engineering, construction, project management, and purchasing teams, you will help mitigate supply chain risks and protect key construction and commissioning milestones. You will also strengthen supplier relationships, mentor sourcing specialists, and improve processes as the data center infrastructure business expands. This opportunity combines strategic influence with practical execution in a collaborative, performance-driven environment focused on delivering critical infrastructure projects.
Accountabilities:
As a Sourcing Manager, you will lead sourcing strategy and bid execution for data center construction projects, connecting technical requirements, supplier capabilities, commercial objectives, and delivery schedules. You will also contribute to team development, supply chain resilience, and continuous improvement across sourcing operations.
-
Own sourcing strategies and bid execution from initial project scope review through supplier recommendations and handoff to Purchasing.
-
Review requests for proposals, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), technical specifications, scopes of work, project schedules, and priorities to develop actionable sourcing plans.
-
Source critical data center equipment and construction scopes, including transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, power distribution equipment, cables, cooling systems, controls, structured cabling, and low-voltage infrastructure.
-
Lead RFx processes, supplier evaluations, bid comparisons, commercial analysis, and negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable contract terms, and reliable delivery commitments.
-
Identify long-lead equipment requirements and emerging supply chain risks, developing mitigation strategies to protect construction, energization, and commissioning milestones.
-
Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Category Management, and Purchasing to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling challenges.
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), subcontractors, and other industry partners.
-
Assess supplier capacity, manufacturing constraints, quality standards, lead times, delivery performance, and commercial risks to support informed sourcing decisions.
-
Coach and mentor sourcing specialists, helping develop their technical knowledge, negotiation skills, and ability to manage complex sourcing projects.
-
Monitor sourcing performance, improve bid turnaround times and pricing accuracy, and implement scalable processes to support business growth.
-
Support compliance with applicable Buy American requirements, supplier diversity initiatives, client-specific sourcing requirements, and procurement audit standards.
-
Contribute to a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and consistent delivery of results.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate combines extensive strategic sourcing experience with practical knowledge of data center construction and mission-critical infrastructure. You should be comfortable interpreting technical documentation, negotiating complex commercial arrangements, managing competing deadlines, and developing supplier relationships while guiding and supporting other sourcing professionals.
-
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
-
Eight to twelve years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, or project sourcing.
-
At least four to six years of experience supporting data center construction, mission-critical facilities, or similarly complex infrastructure projects.
-
Demonstrated experience leading complex RFP/RFQ processes, evaluating bids, negotiating with suppliers, and conducting commercial analysis.
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, technical specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
-
Experience assessing suppliers based on pricing, manufacturing capacity, lead times, quality, delivery performance, and commercial risk.
-
Strong understanding of long-lead equipment and supply chain challenges that can affect construction schedules, energization, and commissioning.
-
Proven ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives and bids simultaneously while meeting demanding project deadlines.
