We are the world market leader for reusable packaging containers (RPCs) for fresh food and are constantly optimizing our products.

We help make the food supply cycle for the population more sustainable. With our RPCs, safety for food transport is improved, there is less waste of food and at the same time the lifespan of the products increases. Through our products and the need for less packaging materials we reduce the carbon footprint.

„The future is circular“

Summary:

This important role within finance is a high-profile position, providing the business with data analysis and conclusions on key business initiatives, logistics, operations and capital investment KPI’s, new business and service center operating models, monthly budget and forecast reporting/analysis, initiative tracking and reporting, and shaping operational and commercial business strategy. The role acts as an analytical partner to the Executive and Commercial teams, translating supply chain economics into insight that informs pricing, customer and operational investment decisions. This includes leading full supply chain total cost of ownership (TCO) studies that quantify and articulate the value proposition and benefits of IFCO’s Reusable Plastic Containers (RPCs) relative to corrugated and other single-use packaging alternatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing planning and analysis of Operations and Service Center-specific budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning processes
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations and FP&A team to share data, report, and support each other in the business
  • Work with North American and global (Munich) teams, as well as equipment providers, to plan and execute the multi-year network automation plan
  • Support logistics initiatives and reporting, and special projects to optimize cost setup within IFCO’s cost of goods sold.
  • Responsible for critical ad-hoc analyses as required by management
  • Reporting on and helping to implement improvements in operational and capital initiatives
  • Manage weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end reporting and analysis functions for all supply chain initiatives
  • Develop and maintain key operations financial performance metrics
  • Prepare and assure the reasonableness of key financial presentations for senior management, including reporting of monthly and YTD KPIs, forecast, budget, and strategic plan presentations.
  • Lead full supply chain total cost of ownership (TCO) studies comparing IFCO RPC solutions with corrugated and other single-use packaging, covering the end-to-end value chain including packaging spend, labor, transport, storage, product shrink and damage, retail handling and waste and sustainability costs
  • Build and maintain a repeatable TCO and value proposition modelling toolkit, with documented assumptions, benchmarks and sensitivity analysis, so that internal and customer-facing claims are financially defensible and applied consistently across the region
  • Partner with the Commercial, Marketing and Sales teams to develop customer- and category-specific business cases that support new business, renewals, pricing discussions and conversion from corrugated
  • Provide the Executive Leadership Team with decision-ready insight into supply chain performance, moving beyond operational KPI reporting to explain the underlying cost, margin and volume drivers and their financial implications
  • Deliver analysis on cost-to-serve, customer profitability, and the quantified sustainability and circularity benefits of reusable packaging, to strengthen IFCO’s value proposition in the market
  • Present findings and recommendations to executives, commercial, and, where required, customer audiences, tailoring the depth of financial detail to the audience

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills - primarily in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience using SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, and other generative AI solutions
  • 5-8 years of experience in Finance and Accounting, preferred
  • Experience in supply chain and/or financial planning and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a commercially minded finance business partner, with the ability to challenge assumptions, influence decisions and translate financial and operational analysis into tangible business actions.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment, managing competing priorities, ambiguity and short decision cycles without compromising analytical quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to move seamlessly between detailed operational and financial analysis and broader strategic thinking, connecting granular business drivers to their impact on customer value, margin, EBITDA and long-term business performance.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Detail oriented, proactive and highly organized
  • Strong process management skills
  • Ability to translate complex supply chain and financial data into a clear, persuasive commercial narrative for executive, commercial and customer audiences
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including scenario and sensitivity analysis to support TCO studies and business cases
  • Strong commercial mindset and business acumen; naturally connects operational performance and cost drivers to pricing, customer profitability, margin, volume and EBITDA
  • Intellectually curious, with the willingness to challenge data, assumptions and conclusions and to understand the underlying operational drivers rather than accepting reporting at face value
  • Able to move comfortably between strategic discussion and hands-on analysis - equally effective working through the detail in Excel as presenting the key implications and recommended actions to senior leadership
  • Strong ownership mentality and drive for results; takes accountability for outcomes and proactively follows issues from identification and analysis to recommendation, decision and implementation.
  • Comfortable constructively challenging senior stakeholders across Operations, Commercial and Finance and able to influence decisions through fact-based, pragmatic recommendations.
