Job Title
Environmental Health and Safety Manager

The Practical Detail
Location: Hugoton
Working Model: Full time

Why this role matters
In your first year, you will implement and roll out a comprehensive Environmental Health and Safety program that ensures compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. This role is vital to maintaining a safe and sustainable site, enabling Flora Food Group to scale its operations responsibly. By safeguarding personnel and environmental safety, you directly support our mission to deliver better food while protecting the communities and kitchens we serve. Your work will help build a safety culture that drives long-term sustainability and operational excellence.

What you'll do

  • Implement and maintain the site-wide safety program to meet regulatory standards.
  • Act as the onsite environmental steward, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and policies.
  • Monitor and report on key safety metrics such as recordable incident rate, lost time incident rate, and near miss reporting.
  • Develop and deliver safety training to foster a proactive safety culture among all employees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Performance
You will own the safety program’s success, measured by improvements in safety performance indicators including reduced incident rates and increased near miss reporting. Your data-driven approach will ensure regulatory compliance and support the site’s ability to scale sustainably. Delivering consistent safety results will strengthen operational reliability and protect our people and environment.

Care
This role reports directly to the site manager and works closely with operations, human resources, and environmental teams. You will lead by example, promoting responsible safety practices and long-term thinking that protect both employees and the environment. Your stewardship will help Flora Food Group build a safety culture that lasts, ensuring we do the right thing every day for our people and communities.

Passion
You bring a genuine care for creating safe, healthy workplaces that support the production of better food. Your curiosity about environmental stewardship and safety innovation will help raise the bar for how we protect our people and planet. You understand that reliability in safety is as essential as taste and nutrition in our products, and you take pride in contributing to a sustainable future for food.

About you
You have a strong background in Food environmental health and safety, with proven experience implementing safety programs that meet regulatory requirements. You are confident in managing compliance with OSHA and EPA standards and skilled at engaging teams to build a positive safety culture. Your approach is hands-on and data-driven, with a clear focus on delivering measurable safety outcomes. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across functions to drive continuous improvement.

You take pride in working for a company with over 150 years of expertise in food, and you understand that excellent work in every function is what allows Flora Food Group to put better food on tables around the world. You bring the same rigour and care to your discipline that our teams bring to every product, because how we work is as important as what we make.

Where this could lead to
This role typically leads to broader site leadership positions in environmental, health, and safety management within 2 to 3 years. You will have the opportunity to expand your influence across multiple sites or into corporate sustainability roles, shaping Flora Food Group’s safety and environmental strategy at a higher level.
