About you and the role:

This role primarily supports the VP, Financial Reporting in the preparation of Enstar’s quarterly and annual financial statement filings.

 

The main responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports, including, but not limited to, the investor financial supplements and investor presentations.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual BMA filings, including the Financial Condition Report.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly disclosure checklist
  • Assisting with research and implementation of new accounting and reporting guidance.
  • Assisting with peer review analysis.
  • Assisting with other assigned projects as needed.
  • Liaising with other business units and external auditors on deliverables.
  • Maintaining good internal control procedures to ensure compliance Internal Control standards.
  • Understanding and complying with Enstar’s Code of Conduct.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years post-graduation experience with a Big 4 auditing firm, focusing on U.S. GAAP and SEC registrants, or similar (re)insurance industry experience required
  • Experience with Workiva’s Wdesk platform would be an asset
  • CA, CPA or ACCA qualification is preferred;
  • Current knowledge and practical experience of U.S. GAAP and/or financial reporting relating to (re)insurance industry is required.
  • Excellent analytical and accounting skills together with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.Motivated professional with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
  • Highly detailed with superior organizational and time management skills
  • Results oriented with strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels within the organization
