ABOUT DOT.CARDS

dot.cards is building the platform for what happens after people connect in the real world. We began by making it effortless to share a digital profile with a tap. With 2.5M+ devices sold and 100M+ in-person connections facilitated, we now have a rare foundation: consumer scale, real-world distribution, and direct insight into how people connect.

Our next chapter is to turn that foundation into a configurable software platform. Reusable building blocks, including profiles, contact exchange, payments, messaging, booking, data capture, digital credentials, analytics, and integrations, will power focused products for different cohorts and industries. The opportunity spans individuals, teams, events, businesses, and the physical places where connections happen, with hardware and software working together as one seamless experience. We are a revenue-backed, fast-growing company based in Los Angeles, and this role will help define the product category we become.

THE ROLE

We are hiring our first Head of Product to lead this evolution. You will work closely with our Founder & CEO, executive team, and Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to shape the long-term vision, understand where dot.cards can create the greatest customer value, and turn that opportunity into a focused portfolio strategy and roadmap.

You will bring an independent product perspective, deep customer understanding, and strong strategic judgment to the partnership. Together, you will turn ambitious ideas and market insight into clear priorities, a coherent platform, and products customers love. You will lead product across our consumer platform, Profile Plus subscription, dot.Teams, connected hardware experiences, and new software opportunities.

This is a high-impact builder role with meaningful influence over company strategy, product craft, organizational design, and the direction of dot.cards. You will stay close to customers and the product details that matter while building a product organization capable of operating at greater scale. Experience with connected hardware is valuable, but exceptional software product judgment and systems thinking are most important.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Product Vision, Platform & Portfolio

  • Define and communicate a compelling multi-year product vision and an outcome-based 12–18 month roadmap across consumer, subscription, business, and connected hardware experiences

  • Shape a coherent portfolio of focused products for different cohorts and industries, built on a shared modular platform

  • Determine which capabilities belong in the shared platform and how reusable building blocks such as payments, messaging, booking, data capture, digital credentials, analytics, and integrations come together in focused experiences

  • Balance continued investment in our core profile, subscription, Teams, and hardware-to-software experiences with new products, business models, and vertical opportunities

  • Set clear customer and business outcomes for each major initiative and make thoughtful portfolio tradeoffs using customer insight, behavioral data, and commercial judgment

Customer Insight & Product Craft

  • Build a continuous customer-discovery practice using interviews, product behavior, support and sales insights, churn analysis, and direct observation

  • Spend time with consumers and business customers in the moments where dot.cards is used, and turn what you learn into clear product decisions

  • Create simple, intuitive, mobile-first experiences across activation, profile creation, sharing, exchange, follow-up, subscription, and team administration

  • Partner with early customers of new products to understand their workflows, identify patterns that can scale, and refine the product quickly

Product Development & Business Outcomes

  • Turn strategy into clear product definitions, roadmaps, prototypes, and requirements that give teams the context and clarity to build well

  • Lead the full product cycle from discovery and design through launch and iteration, maintaining a high bar for usability, reliability, and product polish

  • Instrument important journeys, establish a strong post-launch learning cadence, and use evidence to decide what to improve, scale, or stop

  • Own the customer and business impact of the portfolio, including activation, time to value, engagement, conversion, retention, adoption, and expansion

  • Grow software into a standalone engine for the business while improving the path from every device purchase to activation, repeated value, and subscription adoption

  • Advance dot.Teams into a cohesive enterprise product with intuitive administration, integrations, permissions, analytics, security, and strong employee adoption

Team & Company Leadership

  • Build and lead the product function, develop product managers and product owners, and hire thoughtfully as the portfolio grows

  • Bring Product, Design, Engineering, and go-to-market teams together around a shared vision, clear priorities, and measurable outcomes

  • Work closely with the CEO and executive team as a collaborative thought partner, bringing customer evidence and a clear product point of view to company decisions

  • Create clarity and momentum across the portfolio through strong goals, ownership, communication, and decision-making

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 10–15+ years of product management experience, including meaningful leadership at the VP, Head of Product, or senior product director level

  • Deep experience building consumer mobile or web software at meaningful scale, with a track record of creating intuitive and differentiated products customers value

  • A track record of leading a multi-product portfolio and building or materially evolving a product function in a founder-led startup or growth-stage company

  • Experience developing a platform or ecosystem strategy and turning shared capabilities into focused products for distinct audiences

  • Meaningful experience with B2B SaaS or enterprise products, including complex workflows, administration, integrations, permissions, analytics, or security

  • Demonstrated success improving activation, engagement, conversion, retention, adoption, and expansion

  • Exceptional customer-discovery skills and the willingness to personally interview, observe, and support users

  • Strong product and design judgment, paired with the ability to move comfortably between long-term strategy and the details that shape an exceptional customer experience

  • Analytical and technical fluency across instrumentation, funnels, cohorts, experiments, pricing, platform decisions, and build-versus-buy tradeoffs

  • A hands-on operating style: you are energized by writing the brief, reviewing the flow, talking with customers, analyzing data, and making decisions

  • A collaborative leadership style, clear written and verbal communication, and strong executive judgment

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with connected hardware and companion mobile or web software

  • Experience spanning consumer subscriptions, product-led growth, ecommerce, and enterprise SaaS

  • Experience building reusable capabilities involving payments, messaging, booking, events, CRM integrations, digital credentials, or data capture

  • Experience incubating new products or verticals from discovery through scale, including AI-enabled experiences or products that connect physical-world interactions with digital follow-up

WHY JOIN DOT.CARDS

This is a rare opportunity to build from a position of real scale while the largest software opportunity is still ahead of us. You will help shape how millions of people connect in the real world, define an emerging category, and build a product platform with the potential to serve many audiences and industries.
