The Role

BTG Pactual is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the negotiation, drafting and lifecycle management of trading documentation supporting its power, gas and broader commodities trading activities. This position is offered on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role sits at the intersection of Legal, Credit and Trading and is central to how the business onboards counterparties, manages credit exposure and puts trading agreements in place. The successful candidate will manage counterparty documentation from end to end and act as the main point of contact between Legal, Credit, Compliance and the front office.

Role Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage EFET and ISDA Master Agreements, Schedules and Credit Support Annexes (CSAs).
  • Maintain and improve documentation templates and standard negotiation positions with counterparties.
  • Review ancillary credit documentation, including parent company guarantees, letters of credit and surety bonds.
  • Advise commercial, credit and structuring teams on documentation risk, including default provisions, termination triggers, netting and collateral mechanics.
  • Own counterparty documentation end-to-end — onboarding, renewals and outstanding negotiation points.
  • Act as the main point of contact between Legal, Credit, Compliance and front-office teams.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience negotiating EFET General Agreements in a trading, legal or credit role.
  • Solid working knowledge of ISDAs and CSAs, including credit and collateral mechanics.
  • Commodities trading background, ideally gained at a bank, trading house or utility.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a firm but commercially pragmatic style.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, managing a high volume of parallel negotiations.
