Position Description
We are looking for a Senior VB.Net Developer to help enhance TaxAssist, an existing AI Agent management platform. The ideal candidate will design and build modular “plugin” capabilities that extend the platform’s AI agents, solving problems that prompt-based and retrieval-based approaches can’t handle on their own. Experience with Generative AI and vector databases is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain plugins in VB.Net that extend the capabilities of AI agents
- Identify which use cases genuinely require a plugin rather than a meta-prompt or RAG-based approach
- Build plugins that access files uploaded within the chat and work with their content as-is
- Keep plugins granular, with a clear single responsibility and clean integration with the agent
- Work with Cosmos DB and Postgres PgVector, and with OpenAI embeddings where they fit
- Contribute to both front-end and back-end development of the web application
- Collaborate with product, AI, and engineering teams to define requirements and technical approach
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects efficiently
Workplace: This is a remote opportunity open to candidates residing in Argentina or Colombia only
Project Goal: Enhance an existing AI Agent management platform called TaxAssist
Core Technologies: VB.Net. Generative AI and AI Agents. Vector databases. Web application development (front end and back end).
Data Sources and Models: Cosmos DB and Postgres with PgVector. OpenAI embeddings.
Must Have Skills:
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong proficiency in VB.Net
- Experience building web applications (front end and back end)
- Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, such as Cosmos DB and Postgres
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts, including AI agents, prompting, and RAG
- Experience working in Agile environments
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with vector databases and embeddings (PgVector, OpenAI embeddings)
- Experience building plugin or modular architectures
- Familiarity with cloud environments like Azure

- Solid written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Strong team and individual player
- Maintains composure in all types of situations and is collaborative by nature
