Position Summary:

At Bentley Systems, our software forms the digital back

bone for the world's most critical infrastructure projects. The integrity of that backbone rests on the quality of our products, and we are looking for a professional who shares that commitment.

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Software Quality Analyst to join our industry-leading ProjectWise team. In this role, you will hold a pivotal position, responsible for validating the functionality, performance, and stability of software used to design and manage everything from nuclear power plants to international airports.

This is an opportunity to move beyond standard testing. You will be a key contributor to the development lifecycle, acting as a crucial advocate for quality and ensuring that our solutions meet the rigorous demands of the engineers who rely on them. If you are a QA professional driven by a sense of ownership and a desire to work on complex, high-impact products, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Development, Product Management, and other stakeholders to define quality goals, assess risks, and develop comprehensive test strategies, test scenarios, and validation plans for complex features and releases.
  • Lead defect management activities by identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and driving resolution of software defects, ensuring timely communication of quality risks and impacts.
  • Own validation efforts for new features and releases, performing and guiding regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and risk-based testing activities to ensure product quality.
  • Champion quality engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle, driving continuous improvements in processes, testing approaches, and release readiness.
  • Analyze quality metrics, test results, and product trends, providing actionable insights and quality recommendations to engineering and product leadership.
  • Drive adoption of emerging QA technologies, AI-assisted testing practices, and quality engineering tools, while mentoring team members and sharing best practices across teams.
  • Own the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex test environments, ensuring they accurately represent customer deployments and support effective testing.
  • Define and drive the test automation strategy, identify opportunities for AI-assisted and automated testing, and lead initiatives to improve test coverage, reliability, efficiency, and overall product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM engineering discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including ownership of complex testing initiatives and release validation.
  • Deep understanding of QA principles, methodologies, and risk-based testing approaches across the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong quality ownership mindset, with a proven ability to identify quality risks early, drive resolution, and influence quality outcomes across teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to define test strategies, test plans, and test scenarios for complex features, even when requirements are evolving, incomplete, or ambiguous.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of test environment architecture, configuration, troubleshooting, and environment readiness management.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to improve test design, quality analysis, productivity, and testing effectiveness.
  • Experience working with test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and quality engineering practices, with the ability to identify automation opportunities and guide adoption.
  • Experience mentoring QA engineers, promoting testing best practices, and helping drive a culture of quality within engineering teams.
  • Ability to analyze quality trends, define quality metrics, and provide data-driven recommendations to support release readiness decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

This is a Hybrid role.
