Job Summary
The Digital Solutions Engineer, Greater Asia, provides advanced technical support and digital solution expertise to Baxter-authorized distributors across Greater Asia. The role is accountable for enabling distributors to qualify, design, implement, troubleshoot, and support complex, multi-component Baxter Digital solutions, while providing direct technical leadership when the complexity, risk, or strategic importance of an engagement requires Baxter involvement. All solutions must comply with Baxter technical, cybersecurity, data privacy, quality, and service standards.
Serving as the regional escalation point for complex distributor-led opportunities and implementations, the role leads high-level technical discussions with distributors and customers and ensures that agreed solutions are translated into accurate requirements, specifications, and executable implementation plans. As the Greater Asia representative within the International Digital Service organization, the position connects regional execution with international service strategy, operating standards, capability development, and global technical governance.
For complex, high-risk, or strategically important activities, the position is supported by International Digital Service subject-matter experts and specialist resources to provide additional technical depth, resolve escalations, and ensure alignment with Baxter global requirements. The role collaborates with distributors, customers, country teams, Regional Service, Commercial, Product, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Quality, Regulatory, and global technical teams. The position leads through influence across a diverse, multi-country distributor network and helps build sustainable partner capability, consistent deployment practices, timely execution, and reliable customer outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the Greater Asia technical authority and escalation point for Baxter Digital solutions delivered and supported through authorized distributors.
- Provide technical leadership for complex distributor-led opportunities, including solution qualification, solution architecture, EMR integration, interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR, middleware, server and network infrastructure, wired and wireless connectivity, cybersecurity, data privacy, deployment readiness, and support-model assessment.
- Establish, communicate, and govern Greater Asia technical standards, implementation methods, documentation requirements, and support expectations in alignment with the International Digital Service organization, Baxter global product requirements, and applicable regional quality, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Assess distributor technical capability and readiness; identify gaps and define enablement, training, certification, and improvement plans with the relevant Baxter stakeholders.
- Coach and enable distributor technical teams to independently design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Baxter Digital solutions within their authorized scope. Where an implementation is unusually complex, high risk, or strategically important, lead the design and delivery of the Digital components and coordinate the technical contribution required from Baxter and distributor resources.
- Lead technical reviews for complex or high-risk implementations and recommend approval, remediation, escalation, or exception handling based on documented evidence and Baxter requirements.
- Coordinate resolution of critical technical issues across distributors, country teams, Regional Service, Product, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Quality, Regulatory, and global support organizations.
- Support Commercial teams and distributors during strategic customer engagements by translating technical requirements, risks, dependencies, and solution options into clear business terms.
- Monitor distributor support performance, recurring technical issues, implementation quality, capability gaps, and customer-impacting risks; use the findings to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Capture Greater Asia customer, distributor, service, and market requirements and provide structured input to the International Digital Service organization and global product, service, and digital roadmaps. Translate agreed international priorities and standards into regional capability plans, distributor enablement activities, and implementation practices.
- Maintain effective communication with Greater Asia leadership, the International Digital Service organization, and relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding material opportunities, implementation progress, achievement of agreed goals, technical risks, critical dependencies, obstacles, escalations, decisions required, and corrective actions.
- Promote consistent knowledge management and reuse of technical solutions, lessons learned, service documentation, and troubleshooting practices across the Greater Asia distributor network.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
- Substantial progressive experience in healthcare technology, including senior-level accountability for complex, business-critical programs across multiple Greater Asia markets.
- Demonstrated success enabling and governing distributors, channel partners, or third-party service organizations, including setting technical expectations, assessing capability and readiness, and driving sustained performance improvement.
- Proven ability to provide senior technical leadership across Greater Asia, represent regional requirements within an International organization, and influence country, regional, and global stakeholders in a complex matrix environment without relying on direct reporting authority
- Recognized expertise in healthcare digital solution architecture and information ecosystems, including clinical workflows, EMR platforms, HL7 and FHIR interoperability, application integration, infrastructure, cloud or hybrid environments, and enterprise deployment models.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment to architecture, cybersecurity, data privacy, quality, regulatory, deployment-readiness, and operational-risk decisions, including escalation of material exceptions outside delegated authority.
- Proven ability to lead complex and high-risk customer, distributor, and cross-functional engagements; resolve escalations; shape commercially viable solutions; and communicate recommendations, trade-offs, and business impact to senior technical and business leaders.
- Demonstrated effectiveness operating across cultures, time zones, regulatory environments, and varying levels of distributor and market maturity, with the ability and willingness to travel across Greater Asia as required.
