Company Description

At Bapcor, we're looking for a commercially minded analyst who wants to influence business decisions, not just report on numbers.

This is an opportunity to become the key finance partner for one of Australia's most recognisable automotive retail brands, Autobarn, supporting a network of over 100 locations and a business generating more than $320 million in revenue.

If you're naturally curious, enjoy solving problems and have the confidence to challenge thinking and influence decisions, we'd love to hear from you.

This isn't a role for someone who simply prepares reports and sends them on. We're looking for someone who can uncover what the numbers mean, identify opportunities, tell the story behind the data and help drive better commercial outcomes.

What's in it for You?

  • Be the key finance partner to the Autobarn business
  • Influence commercial decisions across a $320M business unit
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Exposure to strategic projects and business improvement initiatives
  • Career development opportunities across the Bapcor network
  • Paid Birthday Leave and discounted health insurance
  • Staff discounts, novated leasing and salary sacrifice benefits
  • Free onsite parking and a supportive team culture

Job Description

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you'll act as the primary finance partner for the Autobarn business.

You'll work closely with operational leaders to understand performance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions and provide insights that influence business decisions.

Success in this role comes from building strong stakeholder relationships, asking the right questions and translating complex financial information into practical commercial recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with operational leaders across the Autobarn network
  • Deliver meaningful commercial insights and recommendations
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and planning processes
  • Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • Lead monthly performance reviews and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, margin and profitability
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools and process improvements
  • Support month-end activities, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Analyse working capital, inventory performance and business trends
  • Drive accountability through performance reporting and commercial challenge

Qualifications

About You

You're naturally curious and enjoy digging beneath the numbers to understand what's really driving business performance.

You don't just produce reports, you use data to tell a story, uncover opportunities and influence better business decisions. You're comfortable building relationships across the business, challenging assumptions and translating complex information into practical insights.

You'll bring:

  • 3+ years' experience in commercial finance, financial analysis, management reporting or business partnering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
  • The ability to translate data into meaningful commercial insights and recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A curious mindset with a desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics or a related discipline
  • CA/CPA qualified, studying or willing to study

What Success Looks Like

In your first six months, you'll:

  • Build strong relationships across the Autobarn business
  • Develop a deep understanding of the P&L and key performance drivers
  • Become a trusted partner to operational stakeholders
  • Deliver insights that support commercial decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, efficiency and business performance
  • Gain confidence navigating systems, processes and the broader Bapcor network
