What you’ll do

As Health, Safety & Environment Manager for NSW & ACT, you’ll partner with leaders and project teams to turn HSE governance, risk management and compliance requirements into practical action. Combining strategic advice with hands-on guidance, you’ll work with regional stakeholders to strengthen capability, manage risk and support safe, healthy and mentally healthy workplaces.

  • Advise local leadership teams on HSE governance, compliance, reporting, client requirements and change activities.
  • Coach project and site teams to assess risk, implement effective controls and maintain compliance.
  • Support incident management, workers compensation coordination, early intervention, return to work and case management.
  • Ensure psychosocial risks are identified and integrated into business risk management processes.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Managing Directors, Service Group Leaders and project teams to prioritise HSE support.
  • Identify emerging HSE issues and resourcing needs, contributing to operational planning and prioritisation.
  • Drive adoption of HSE digital pathway initiatives and seek opportunities to simplify and improve HSE delivery.
  • Support the development of HSE team members, where applicable.

What you’ll bring

  • A tertiary qualification in health and safety management or a related field such as engineering, science or business.
  • Practical experience supporting HSE outcomes in project, site or multidisciplinary environments.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of health and safety legislation, systems and processes.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capability, with the confidence to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, supported by strong emotional intelligence.
  • A curious, practical and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
