Summary of Responsibilities:

Are you a hands-on SQL Database Administrator who enjoys keeping critical systems secure, resilient and performing at their best? Do you thrive in an environment where proactive monitoring, thoughtful database design and continuous improvement matter?

We are looking for a Database Administrator to help support and strengthen our Microsoft SQL Server environment across both on-premises and Azure platforms. This is an opportunity to play an important role in the health, availability and performance of databases that support critical business operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this role, you'll combine day-to-day database administration with forward-looking planning and improvement. You'll:

·    Administer and support multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances across on-premises and Azure SQL environments.

·    Proactively monitor database health, performance and capacity, addressing potential issues before they disrupt production.

·    Manage database maintenance, access security, backup and recovery, and fault-tolerance practices.

·    Troubleshoot production database issues and partner with application and infrastructure teams to drive resolution.

·    Plan and execute database migrations while helping ensure stability and continuity.

·    Translate logical data designs into effective physical database designs and develop databases that support new applications.

·    Support disaster recovery planning and testing for business-critical database environments.

·    Establish and reinforce database standards, controls, documentation and best practices.

·    Provide database design consultation to application teams throughout development and deployment.

·    Work within established Change, Incident and Release Management processes when supporting production environments.

·    Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-hours support, for critical database needs.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You'll be successful in this role if you combine strong technical depth with a proactive, collaborative approach. Ideally, you'll bring:

·    1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a dedicated Database Administrator role.

·    Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.

·    Experience with SQL Server installations, Azure SQL deployments, database maintenance and database access security.

·    Demonstrated capability in performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and fault-tolerance planning.

·    Experience planning database migrations and troubleshooting production database issues.

·    Knowledge of physical database design, database modeling and application database development.

·    Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing in environments where database availability is business critical.

·    Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

·    A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline is preferred.
