We’re looking for a self-starting Full Stack Senior Software Engineer who is language-agnostic and driven by solving complex data problems and building intuitive, reliable systems for real users.
You’ll join a small, high-trust, product-focused team working together in-person in Cupertino. We move fast, build iteratively, and value pragmatic problem-solving over dogmatic allegiance to any specific tech stack. AI is woven directly into how we build and what we deliver—from agentic workflows that clean data and automate administrative tasks to user-facing experiences like operational dashboards and conversational tools.
Description
This position sits within the Environmental Systems teams.
Our team builds the mission-critical systems that empower Apple to design, build, and scale every product we ship. This is high-impact, full-stack work at the intersection of complex physical operations, rich data ecosystems, and modern software design.
In this role, you won't just execute predefined specs. You’ll partner closely from day one with product designers, product managers, domain specialists, and other engineers to translate nuanced operational workflows into clear, resilient software. We value engineers who can take messy, ambiguous data challenges and distill them into clean architectures and simple user experiences.
You should be comfortable navigating across the entire stack—designing data models, architecting backend services, crafting responsive UIs, and integrating AI capabilities. Because we operate as a tight, in-person team moving quickly, we emphasize rapid iterations, thoughtful code reviews, high automated test coverage, and strong ownership from whiteboard to production
Minimum qualifications
6+ years of professional full-stack/backend software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering end-to-end web applications and distributed systems.
Language-agnostic problem solver: Proven ability to pick up, evaluate, and work productively across multiple programming languages and frameworks based on what best solves the problem at hand.
Complex data & systems focus: Deep experience designing, modeling, and querying relational and non-relational data systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) to handle complex operational workflows and data pipelines.
Full-stack fluency: Confident designing clean backend APIs and services as well as building responsive, user-centric web frontends (e.g., React, TypeScript, or modern equivalents).
AI in engineering & workflows: Hands-on experience integrating AI into daily engineering workflows, including building or leveraging agentic workflows for automated data cleaning, data transformation, and system administration.
AI-driven product experience: Experience building or integrating AI-powered features into applications, such as conversational/chat interfaces, semantic search, or smart analytics dashboards.
Product-oriented self-starter: Strong cross-functional collaborator who communicates clearly and works proactively with product managers, product designers, and engineering peers in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
Engineering craft: Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code with observability and monitoring in mind.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred qualifications
Experience building internal tools, data platforms, or analytics dashboards for operational, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
Experience deploying autonomous AI agents, LLM orchestration frameworks, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines in production.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern CI/CD deployment environments.
Hands-on experience with system observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, OpenTelemetry).
