Key job responsibilities
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and physically repair server and network devices through a structured 6-month training program in a live data center.
• Build working knowledge of hardware fundamentals, software and OS fundamentals, and network fundamentals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network issues using directed workflows. Separate hardware from software problems using data-driven analysis.
• Identify the correct SOP for a given technical problem. Use internal and external documentation to guide resolution.
• Document technical issues clearly and in detail in the trouble ticket system. Know when and how to escalate confidently.
• Safely lift, install, and rack equipment using provided lifting tools, including in confined spaces or at height, following health and safety guidelines.
• Perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities (starts after training).
• Apply safety, security, and operational policies to all aspects of daily work.
• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders during problem resolution. Stay composed under pressure during critical events.
• Starts on office hours, transitioning to 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights much later in the program.
Basic qualifications
- 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in networking- 1+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)- Understanding of IT service management and DC safety/security
- High school diploma or equivalent (STEM preferred)
