About Aboon
Setting up a 401(k) shouldn't be the hardest thing a business ever does. But retirement plan administration is complex, fragmented, and manual — and it slows down both business owners and the advisors who serve them. Aboon was founded to change that.
We're an AI-native third-party administrator (TPA) that makes it easy for advisors to offer 401(k)s and other retirement products by pairing streamlined workflows with dedicated human service. Backed by leading investors including Bain Capital and Edward Jones Ventures, we bring decades of experience building for advisors and the retirement industry. We're looking for exceptional, mission-driven people to build it with us.
About the role
As an Associate Plan Consultant, you'll work alongside a small group of Plan Consultants to prospect advisors, qualify inbound interest, and coordinate to keep opportunities moving. You’ll ensure Plan Consultants have booked, qualified meetings on their calendars and build the knowledge to eventually carry your own territory.
What you'll do
Prospecting and Outreach
Run and support outbound campaigns by phone, email, and drip sequence to reach advisors in the retirement plan market
Answer inbound calls to the main sales line and overflow calls from Plan Consultants’ direct lines
Use prospecting and research tools to build and prioritize target advisor lists for Plan Consultants
Prequalify leads against our ideal client profile, surfacing an advisor's book, plan experience, and what's prompting the interest now
Build rapport with new advisors and nurture existing relationships, moving cold inquiries into warm relationships that lead to plan sales
Partner with Marketing to identify opportunities for targeted campaigns to drive engagement and pipeline
Triage inbound email and calls, directing to Plan Consultants or responding directly as appropriate
Represent Aboon on introductory calls with new and prospective advisors, explaining who we are and how our process works
Opportunity Support
Prepare prospect research and meeting materials
Review onboarding checklists, documents, and project plans with Plan Consultants to keep them moving
Book qualified pitch meetings with target prospects
Partner with Plan Consultants on proactive messaging and follow-ups that cultivate existing relationships and move opportunities forward
Hand off qualified opportunities with the context a Plan Consultant needs to run a productive first meeting
Provide timely follow-up on engaged contacts
Coordination and CRM
Handle scheduling for internal and external meetings, working directly with advisors to secure time or gather required data
Maintain accurate CRM records, activity data, and supporting documents
Track your own activity and meeting output, and flag what's landing and what isn't so the team can adjust
Provide detailed notes and summaries of interactions for Plan Consultants
Learning and Improvement
Build working knowledge of 401(k) plan design, recordkeeper platforms, and the TPA model through training and self-directed study
Contribute ideas that improve how we prospect, qualify, and hand off
Test workflows, document gaps, and actively propose opportunities for automation of repeatable work
Who you are
The right person is:
Curious — you want to understand why a plan design decision matters to an advisor, and you want to find ways to make it easier.
Comfortable initiating — you'll pick up the phone before you're sure how the conversation goes, and you'd rather learn from a bad call than avoid one.
Detail-reliable across systems — documents, dates, and follow-ups are carefully orchestrated.
Accountable to output — you know what your week produced without being asked.
Coachable and quick to apply — feedback lands once and shows up in your work the next week.
Resilient — prospecting is often a no, but you don't take it personally, and you don't let it slow you down.
Energized by the path — this role is designed to grow into a Plan Consultant, and you're here for that.
What you bring
Required

Comfort learning modern tools — Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, CRM, prospecting and research platforms, and file-sharing tools
Nice to have
Exposure to retirement plans, insurance, or financial services in any capacity
Experience working directly with financial advisors or recordkeepers
Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot, ideally in day-to-day work
