About Aboon
Setting up a 401(k) shouldn't be the hardest thing a business ever does. But retirement plan administration is complex, fragmented, and manual — and it slows down both business owners and the advisors who serve them. Aboon was founded to change that.
We're an AI-native third-party administrator (TPA) that makes it easy for advisors to offer 401(k)s and other retirement plans by pairing streamlined workflows with dedicated human service. Backed by leading investors including Bain Capital and Edward Jones Ventures, we bring decades of experience building for advisors and the retirement industry. We're looking for exceptional, mission-driven people to build it with us.
About the role
As we expand our partner base and bring new products to market, the Aboon brand needs to shine: preceding us in conversations with broker-dealers, wirehouses, and RIAs, establishing us as a thought leader in the retirement advisor space, and supporting our distribution as we scale.
This is our first dedicated marketing hire. You'll own the function: strategy and execution, brand building and conference presence, thought leadership and sales enablement. You'll report to our CEO and work closely with GTM, product, and leadership.
We're a lean, fully remote team that runs on autonomy and trust. You'll set the direction for how Aboon shows up in the market and execute against it — from writing the weekly email to planning our conference presence to pitching industry media. The role is built for someone who's energized by full ownership and building something from scratch.
What you'll do
Brand and thought leadership
Own Aboon's brand presence: LinkedIn, industry media, and the thought leadership strategy that establishes us in the retirement advisor space
Identify and pursue relevant industry awards and recognition programs
Develop case studies from live partner relationships that support advisory firm pipeline development and trust
Events and conferences
Own our conference calendar, budget, presence strategy, and follow-up playbooks
Plan and execute booth presence, speaking opportunities, and post-event engagement across the retirement and financial services circuit
Email and lifecycle marketing
Own and evolve our email marketing programs
Build onboarding and nurture sequences as our distribution expands to new partners and channels
Collateral and sales enablement
Develop partner-facing materials — one-pagers, decks, objection handling guides — in close partnership with GTM
Build a library of assets that supports a scalable, repeatable distribution motion
Product marketing and competitive intelligence
Develop positioning and messaging for our target partner segments: wirehouses, independent aggregators, and insurance platforms
Monitor the competitive landscape and feed insights into messaging and positioning on an ongoing basis
Measure and optimize
Track, analyze, and report on key marketing metrics across the business
Partner with sales to understand and measure the impact our marketing efforts are driving toward pipeline creation and revenue (e.g., lead volume, conversion rates)
Continuously iterate on marketing tactics by applying insights from data to improve performance
Who you are
A financial services marketer: You've marketed to financial advisors, RIAs, or broker-dealer audiences, or in an adjacent regulated B2B fintech space. You understand that home office and individual advisors are different audiences with different needs. You know the trade outlets, the conference circuit, and the competitive landscape, or you can get there fast because you've done something analogous.
A builder: You've built something from scratch, and you want top-to-bottom ownership of a function. You’re both elevating our conference presence and writing our weekly email copy, and you find that energizing, not limiting.
An excellent writer: You produce clear, direct, audience-aware writing, from email copy to case studies to media pitches. You don't need someone to clean up your drafts.
An operator: You're comfortable running multiple workstreams without a fully built playbook, setting your own priorities, and building systems as you go. You move fast and communicate clearly across a cross-functional team.
A collaborator with opinions: You'll work closely with strong voices across the leadership team. You know how to share your views directly, push back when you think something's wrong, and know how to get to the right answer together.
What you bring
10-12 years of marketing experience, with meaningful B2B financial services, fintech, or wealth/retirement exposure
Track record of building or significantly expanding a marketing program (brand, content, events, or a combination)
Strong writing across formats: long-form, short-form, external-facing, and internal
Comfortable with marketing tools and platforms (Customer.io, HubSpot, or equivalents)
Early-stage company experience — you've built in ambiguity and created structure where there wasn't any
